An independent Editorial Board provides editorial direction and original content for PeerDirect’s independent publications. Outside Editorial Advisors and Staff Editors set the content direction, organize conference and event coverage, and curate news and emerging science. Dr. Matthew Barber received his BS in Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Michigan and his doctorate of medicine from CAHSU - School of Medicine. Dr. Barber spent time in oncology research before entering the pharmaceutical industry where he helped facilitate the successful FDA label expansion of a novel anesthetic for Hospira. Dr. Barber went on to pursue medical intelligence and was a VP Medical Director for an agency of record for 5 years before joining PeerDirect.

Maggie Hurd received a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and a MS in Health Communication from Northwestern University. She has been working in pharmaceutical marketing and medical communications for nearly a decade, acting as a medical writer and strategist for both promotional materials and medical education at full-service agencies prior to joining PeerDirect in 2020.

Dr. Purvi Shah received her BS in Biology and Psychology from the University of Georgia and her doctorate of medicine from Xavier University School of Medicine. Prior to joining PeerDirect, Dr. Shah worked at healthcare communications and strategic consulting agencies leveraging her clinical and scientific knowledge to develop medical education programs.

Dr. Richard Woolfson received his BS in Economics from Bates College and doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Woolfson did his post-graduate training in general surgery and internal medicine. He has been working in medical publishing and communications since 2003 with a career spanning from Simpson Healthcare, International Meetings and Science, and PeerDirect, where he is Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Timothy Wright received a BA in English and Pre-Medical Sciences from the College of the Holy Cross, a DO from UNT Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and an MPH from the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst He did his post-graduate training in Emergency Medicine before practicing in Texas and Connecticut. Dr. Wright is the host of PeerDirect’s Medical News Roundup podcast.
